The Sumter Opera House shows classic films the second Friday of each month as part of the Sumter's House of Classic Movies series. Its cultural history as Sumter’s first movie theater brings fond memories of the "good old days" and creates new ones for young and old alike. Each feature film is provided by the Sumter County Library and is preceded with traditional cartoons to give movie goers the feeling of stepping back in time. The show starts at 7:30 PM and admission is$2.50. All proceeds benefit the Sumter County Library's children's programs.
