While this website and blog have a focus on Olivia de Havilland and GWTW on the big screen, my love of classic films and the classic cinematic experience extends far beyond GWTW. Therefore, I would be remiss if I did not publicize the exciting lineup of classic films that are going to be screened this fall thanks to TCM and Fathom Events! So, you will have the thrilling experience of seeing "The Birds," "E.T.," "The Bride of Frankenstein," Frankenstein," and "To Kill a Mockingbird" on the BIG SCREEN at your local theater in the coming months. Starting this fall NCM Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies celebrate 100 years of Universal with four specially selected American classics newly restored and back on the big screen is special one day only showings. Each title will be presented in select movie theaters nationwide at 7:00 PM (local time) with special matinee showings at select locations - check your local listings for more information.
Each event will include a specially produced TCM introduction featuring film historian and author Robert Osborne or TCM Weekend Daytime host Ben Mankiewicz. Osborne and Mankiewicz will take audiences behind the scenes of these American classics with exclusive interviews, historical retrospectives and unique insights into the making of these timeless classics.
